In molti mi hanno chiesto com'è un tipico giorno lavorativo per un'au pair, così ho deciso di accontentarvi tutti e scrivere un post sull'argomento.
Dato che ogni giorno della settimana è diverso, per quanto riguarda la mia esperienza vi racconteró di un mercoledì e giovedì qualunque.

Mercoledì

6:00 - Sveglia
6:30 - Sono ON, inizio a preparare la colazione per le bambine
6:45 - Sveglio le bambine, che si iniziano a preparare per la scuola
7:00 - Colazione
7:15 - Aiuto le bambine a finire di prepararsi
7:30 - Porto le bambine a scuola
8:00 - Torno a casa, sistemo le camere e faccio i letti delle bambine, pulisco la cucina
8:30 - Sono OFF, mi inizio a preparare per la palestra
9:00 - Vado in palestra
10:30 - Torno a casa, guardo un pó di tv, uso il computer, skype con famiglia e amici
12:30 - Pranzo
14:00 - Sono ON, vado a prendere le bambine a scuola
14:30 - Le bambine giocano al parco giochi
15:00 - Torniamo a casa, le bimbe si preparano per le attività, mangiano uno snack e fanno i compiti
15:40 - Porto Kenzie a danza
16:00 - Porto Lexie a ginnastica
16:30/19:30 - Lexie ha gli allenamenti di ginnastica, io rimango alla sua palestra, uso il computer, leggo ecc.
19:30 - Torniamo a casa
20:00 - Sono OFF, ceniamo tutti insieme
21:00 - Vado in camera, guardo un po di tv, leggo, uso il computer ecc
22:30 - Dormo

Giovedì

6:00 - Sveglia
6:30 - Sono ON, inizio a preparare la colazione per le bambine
6:45 - Sveglio le bambine, che si iniziano a preparare per la scuola
7:00 - Colazione
7:15 - Aiuto le bambine a finire di prepararsi
7:30 - Il mio host dad porta le bambine a scuola, io sistemo le camere, faccio i letti delle bambine e pulisco la cucina
8:00 - Faccio il bucato, mentre i vestiti sono nell'asciugatrice torno a dormire
10:30 - Sono OFF, esco con un'au pair per un caffè
12:00 - Vado a casa di Kasia a mangiare
13:30 - Torno a casa, preparo gli snack per le bambine
14:00 - Sono ON, vado a prendere le bambine
14:30 - Le bimbe giocano al parco giochi
15:30 - Torniamo a casa, le bimbe si preparano per le attività, mangiano uno snack, fanno i compiti
16:45 - Porto Lexie a danza, Kenzie viene con me
17:15/18:15 - Lexie ha danza, io e Kenzie aspettiamo alla scuola di ballo
18:15 - Porto le bambine alle prove del coro
18:30 - Sono OFF, alle prove del coro ci aspetta la mia host mom, io vado a casa
19:30 - Esco a cena con altre au pair
21:00 - Andiamo insieme a Sweetfrog per un frozen yogurt
22:00 - Torno a casa, computer, tv ecc
22:30 - Dormo

Many of you asked how a typical working day for an pair looks like, so I decided to write a post about it. Since every day of the week is different, I will tell you how a typical Wednesday and Thursday look like for me.


Wednesday

6:00 - Wake up
6:30 - I'm ON, I start getting breakfast ready for the girls
6:45 - I wake up the girls that start getting ready for school
7:00 - Breakfast
7:15 - I help the girls to get ready
7:30 - I drive the girls to school
8:00 - I come back home, tidy up the girls' rooms and clean up the kitchen
8:30 - I'm OFF,
9:00 - I go to the gym
10:30 - I come home, watch tv, use my laptop, Skype with friends and family
12:30 - Lunch
14:00 - I'm ON, I go to pick up the girls at school
14:30 - The girls play in the playground
15:00 - We come home, the girls get ready for their afternoon activities, eat a snack and do their homework
15:40 - I bring Kenzie to jazz
16:00 - I bring Lexie to gymnastics
16:30/19:30 - Lexie has practice, I stay there and watch, use my laptop, chill etc.
19:30 - We come home
20:00 - I'm OFF, we have dinner all together
21:00 - I go back to my bedroom, read, use my laptop etc.
22:30 - Time to sleep

Thursday
6:00 - Wake up
6:30 - I'm ON, I start getting breakfast ready for the girls
6:45 - I wake up the girls that start getting ready for school
7:00 - Breakfast
7:15 - I help the girls to get ready
7:30 - My host dad drives the girls to school, I tidy up the girls' rooms and clean up the kitchen
8:00 - I do the laundry, while the clothes are in the dryer I go back to sleep
10:30 - I'm OFF, meet a friend for a coffee
12:00 - I go to Kasia's place for lunch 
13:30 - I  go back home, get some snacks for the girls ready
14:00 - I'm ON, I go to pick up the girls at school
14:30 - The girls play in the playground
15:00 - We come home, the girls get ready for their afternoon activities, eat a snack and do their homework
16:45 - I drive Lexie to ballet, Kenzie comes with me
17:15/18:15 - Lexie has ballet, me and Kenzie wait there
18:15 - I bring the girls to choir
18:30 - I'm OFF, at choir I meet my host mom, I drop off the girls and go home
19:30 - I go out for dinner with other au pairs
21:00 - We go to Sweetfrog for a frozen yogurt
22:00 - I come home, watch some tv
22:30 - Time to sleep
