Una ragazza alla pari negli Stati Uniti prende minimo 195,75$ alla settimana. Si può vivere con circa 800$ al mese? Diciamocelo, non è una cifra così considerevole, ma ce la si può fare.
Prima di partire ero convinta del fatto che 200$ circa a settimana fossero un sacco, tenendo conto che vitto, alloggio, benzina, telefono ecc. vengono generalmente pagati dalla famiglia ospitante.
Che cosa è cambiato da quando sono arrivata negli Stati Uniti?
Appena si arriva in America si ha la necessità di acquistare una serie di cose necessarie, specialmente quelle cose che si sono lasciate in Italia, perché non puoi portarti dietro tutta la tua camera, il tuo guardaroba, i tuoi trucchi, creme ecc.
All'inizio, poi, si tende a spendere di più, ad uscire a cena, andare a Starbucks (perché diciamolo, fa figo andare a Starbucks in America), andare a fare shopping con i nuovi amici e amiche che hai appena conosciuto. Dopo un paio di mesi trovi un maggior equilibrio, e ti rendi anche conto del fatto che se vai avanti così non arrivi a fine mese, per cui ti costringi a darti una regolata.
Ma, effettivamente, cosa puoi fare con 200$ a settimana? Questo sta a voi.
Personalmente, ho deciso che più o meno la metà del mio salario settimanale doveva essere destinato ai viaggi. Rimangono quindi più o meno 100$, circa 15$ al giorno.
I soldi che non metto da parte per viaggiare, li spendo tra shopping, cene con gli amici, cinema, o altre attività svolte in compagnia.
E' vero, 800$ al mese non sono un sacco, ma se riesci a trovare un equilibrio e non sei una persona che butta via i soldi, ce la si può fare benissimo!

What has changed since I'm here?
When you arrive in America, you need to buy some necessities, especially those things that you left back home, cause you can't bring your whole bedroom with you, your wardrobe, make up, lotions etc.
In the beginning, you tend to spend more, going out for dinner, stopping by at Starbucks, going shopping with the new friends that you just met. After a couple of months you find a better balance, and you realize that if you go on like that, you won't make it until the end of the month, so you start controlling yourself.
But what can you actually do with 200$ a week? That's up to you.
Personally, I decided that around the half of the weekly salary will be saved for travels. You are left with more or less 100$, 15$ per day.
That money is spent on shopping, dinners with friends, movie theatre or other activities with my friends.
It's true, 800$ a month is not a lot, but if you manage to find a balance and you are not a person that wastes money, you can totally make it!
