Spanish Facts: Stereotypes or reality - part II

Aragonesi:
Onesti, testardi e gridano tanto.
Asturiani:
Sono patriottici, bevono sempre e solo latte delle Asturie e sidro (i migliori in tutta la Spagna), e ovviamente vanno molto fieri di Fernando Alonso, che tra l'altro è l'unico pilota di Formula 1 che conoscono.
Andalusi:
Pigri (non hanno voglia di lavorare e passano le loro giornate al bar), lenti nel fare tutte le cose (confermo!), molto devoti, molto simpatici e divertenti, e esagerati, o meglio, che esagerano qualsiasi racconto o cosa che gli succeda.
Baleari:
Difficilmente dicono di sentirsi "Baleari", è più facile che si sentano maiorchini, minorchini, ecc. Sono chiusi, riservati, tranquilli, soprattutto con gli stranieri.
Baschi:
Testoni, pudici, amanti delle serate che finiscono la mattina e degli after, distaccati.
Canari:
Sono tranquilli, vanno molto lentamente, fanno le cose a ritmo loro, si prendono tutto con calma. Hanno un accento complicato, che sembra un po' latino, che però piace a tutti!
Cantabri:
Orgogliosi della propria terra, amanti delle acciughe, parlano con una cadenza che fa sembrare quasi cantino. Ma si dice anche siano antipatici e un po' maleducati.
Castigliano-leonensi:
Parlano il miglior castigliano, soprattutto nei paesi. Sono freddi, seri e distaccati, soprattutto con gli sconosciuti. Molto generosi e ben vestiti.
Catalani:
Tirchi, lavoratori veri e si dice che non sappiano il castigliano, perché mischiano parole in catalano al castigliano.
Estremegni:
Famosi per i Conquistatori, di cui tutti sanno le imprese; parlano con un accento strano, famosi per il lavoro nei campi che produce alcuni dei migliori prodotti agricoli di tutta la Spagna (dal Jamon Iberico de Bellota al miele, dalle olive alle ciliegie, eccetera).
Galleghi:
Non danno mai risposte precise: o rispondono con un'altra domanda, o con affermazioni tipo "dipende", "magari"; si dice non sappiano prendere decisioni. Hanno sempre "morrina", la "saudade" brasiliana, ogni volta che lasciano la loro terra. Hanno un accento contagioso e sono diffidenti degli sconosciuti: difficile si aprano senza conoscerti!
Madrileni:
Sono fighi, di classe. Sono accoglienti con tutti, soprattutto con chi viene da fuori. Si dice siano stressati, che non camminano, corrono; che sono sempre puntuali e che lavorano sempre.
Castigliani, manceghi:
La Castiglia La Mancia è una regione molto vasta e varia al suo interno, per questo con molti stereotipi. I più famosi: Esperti di proverbi e detti popolari, dall'humor particolare, vengono definiti "gañanes", che corrisponde un po' al nostro "terrone".
Murciani:
Amano fare festa, hanno una lingua propria, con parole che solo lì si possono capire, e si dice mettano limone dappertutto!
Navarri:
Tanto è diversa la regione al suo interno, che neanche loro si mettono d'accordo sugli stereotipi che li riguardano! Nel nord si dice siano più seri e diffidenti, nel sud più aperti e chiacchieroni. Sono dei mangioni e amanti delle feste popolari, che sono sempre in grande stile.
Riojani:
Aperti, ospitali, gentili. Con una maniera di parlare tutta loro. Mangiano fino a non farcela più e bevono (è una delle zone vinicole più famose di Spagna) allo stesso modo.
Valenciani:
Festaioli, con musica sempre a tutto volume, corrotti (fama che si sono guadagnati negli ultimi anni), e che amano fuochi d'artificio o petardi.

Talking about this, a funny movie I really recommend is "8 apellidos vascos" ("8 Basque surnames"), which will give you a good idea of the cultural differences and stereotypes existing among the Spanish regions.
Aragoneses:
Honest, stubborn and they always shout.
Asturians:
Patriots, they always drink only Asturian milk and "sidra" (the best ones in Spain) and they are really proud of Fernando Alonso, who actually is the only Formula 1 pilot they know.
Andalusians:
Lazy (they don't want to work and spend the day at a café or a bar), slow in doing everything (I confirm!), highly devoted, very nice, friendly and funny, and exaggerated, or, better, they exaggerate everything they tell or that happens to them.
Balearics:
They hardly say they feel "Balearic", it's easier they feel from Mallorca, Menorca, etc. They are closed, reserved, especially with foreigners.
Basques:
Stubbord, prudish, lovers of after parties and long nights, detached. They have the best food in Spain.
Canaries:
Calm, they go really slow, they do things at their own pace, they take all the time to do everything. They have a complicated accent, that seems Southern American, but that everyone loves!
Cantabrians:
Proud of their homeland, anchovies-lovers, they talk in a way like they'd sing. But they are said to be unfriendly and a little rude.
Castillan-leonenses:
They talk the best Castilian, especially in small towns. They are cold, serious, distant, especially with strangers. But generous and well-dressed.
Catalans:
Cheapskates, hard workers, and they say that they don't know Castilian, because they mix words in Catalan to Castilian.
Extremadurans:
Famous for the Conquistadores, everyone knows the feats of; they talk with a weird accent, acknowledged for the field work, that produces some of the best agricultural products of all Spain (from the Jamon Iberico de Bellota to honey, from olives to cherries, etc).
Galicians:
They never give clear answers: or they answer with another question, or with affirmations like "it depends", "maybe"; it is said they cannot take a decision. They always have "morrina", like Brazilian "saudade", whenever they live their hometown. They have a contagious accent and they are diffident with strangers: it's difficult they open without knowing you!
Madrileños:
They are cool, classy. They are welcoming with everyone, especially with people coming from outside. They say they are stressed, that they don't walk, they run; that they are always on time and that they always work.
Castilians:
Castiglia La Mancia is a region very wide and various, therefore with a lot of stereotypes. The most famous: expert of proverbs and popular wisdom, with a peculiar humor.
Murcians:
They love to party, they have their own language, with words they are the ones able to understand, and they say they put lemon in everything!
Navarrians:
The region itself is that different that they even can come to an agreement about stereotypes about them! In the North, they are said to be more serious and diffident, in the South more open and chatty. They are big eaters and lovers of popular celebrations, which are always pretty big and famous.
Riojans:
Open, welcoming, kind. With a unique way of talking. They eat until they can no more and drink (it's one of the most famous wine areas of Spain) in the same way.
Valencians:
Party people, always with loud music, corrupted (reputation they earned in the last years), and fireworks and firecrackers lovers.
