Atterriamo a Bruxelles da Dublino lunedì mattina, alle 9:20 circa, dopo aver dormito per tutto il tragitto (com'era prevedibile).
Raccogliamo i bagagli e prendiamo il bus 12, il classico che porta in centro. Simo scende a Bourget (dove c'è la sede di Toyota) per andare diretto in ufficio, mentre io a Diamant, la fermata più vicina a casa.
Mi fermo a comprare delle cose per la colazione e torno a casa a fare lavatrice, asciugatrice e a rifare la valigia. All'1:30 esco di casa per andare in Toyota: devo passare a prendere il mio pc prima di andare in aeroporto. Direzione? Lisbona. Come ho già scritto in un altro articolo, avremo un evento lì a giugno e siamo ancora in fase di preparazione.
Arriviamo a Lisbona verso le 19:30, facciamo il check-in e usciamo subito per la cena. Cena da Tagidé: cibo ottimo e una vista su tutta Lisbona, e sul fiume. Io prendo un filetto di bacalhau (come evitare a Lisbona?) servito con delle frittelle di patate, e un piatto di dessert misti.
La mattina dopo si comincia alle 9 con meeting per tutta la mattina, alle 12 tappa in un podere che potrebbe rappresentare un probabile "pit-stop" per l'evento di giugno, e pranzo in una tenuta vinicola fuori da Lisbona. Preceduto da visita dei vigneti e della struttura. Il pranzo veramente ottimo: si ripete il bacalhau, questa volta servito con patate, e come dolce un pastel de feijão, dolce tipico della zona.
Da lì ci spostiamo al porto per una gita in barca, che si riallaccia al programma dell'evento che stiamo organizzando, ma non posso svelare in che modo. Passiamo davanti a tutta la città, che ci guarda dall'alto delle sue 7 colline.
Torniamo all'hotel, ci cambiamo velocemente e riusciamo per un altro tour: anche in questo caso non posso anticipare niente. Dal Chiado ci spostiamo poi al Mercado da Ribeira, uno dei mercati coperti più belli d'Europa. Dopo un giro veloce al mercato, ci spostiamo al piano superiore per la cena. Pap'Açorda è il ristorante al 1° piano del mercato, con cibo altrettanto ottimo, ma con un ambiente decisamente più riservato e intimo rispetto al mercato.
Io ordino un salmone con patate arrosto e il dolce tipico della casa: una mousse al cioccolato che viene servita direttamente da una ciotola enorme. E per me che amo il cioccolato, è quasi un'esperienza mistica.
Mercoledì si inizia ancora alle 9 con meeting fino alle 13:30. Poi scendiamo a mangiare al ristorante dell'hotel, che è sempre ottimo, e dopo un caffè in terrazza andiamo in aeroporto. 25 gradi, sole e mare: niente male come business trip.
We landed in Brussels from Dublin on Monday morning at 09:20. As expected, we slept for the all flight.
We collected our baggages and took the bus n. 12, the usual that goes to the city centre. Simo got off in Bourget (where the head office of Toyota is) to go to work, while I got off in Diamant, the closest stop to my place.
I stopped to buy some breakfast and went back home to do the laundry and to pack again. At 1:30 I left to go to Toyota: I had to pick up my laptop before going to the airport. Destination? Lisbon. As I had already told in another article, we will have an event there in June and we are still busy with the preparation.
We arrived in Lisbon around 7:30 pm, we checked-in and left immediately for dinner. Dinner at Tagidé: amazing food and outstanding view on the city, and on the river. I took a bacalhau (codfish, unmissable in Lisbon) served with potatoes croquettes and a selection of 10 mini desserts.
The morning after, we started at 9:00 with meeting for the all morning. At 12.00, we stopped in a property that could be a driving hub for the June event. Then, we lunched in a winery outside Lisbon, after the visit of the vineyards and of the building. Lunch was really good: we repeated the bacalhau, this time served with boiled potatoes and, as a dessert, we had a pastel de feijão, typical pastry of the area.
Then, we headed for the port for a boat tour, related to the program of the event we are planning, but I cannot say how. We passed in front of the all city, that looked down on us from its 7 hills.
We went back to the hotel, we got changed quickly and left again for another tour: also in this case I cannot anticipate anything. From Chiado we moved over to Mercado da Ribeira, one of the most beautiful covered markets in Europe. After a quick tour of the market, we went upstairs for dinner. Pap'Açorda is the restaurant at the 1st floor of the market, with food equally excellent, but with a definitely more reserved and intimate environment compared to the market.
I ordered salmon with roasted potatoes and the house dessert: a chocolate mousse served directly from a huge bowl. And for me, a chocolate lover, it's almost a mystical experience.
On Wednesday, we started again at 9:00 with meeting until 13:30. Then, we went down to eat at the hotel restaurant, which is always outstanding. After a coffee in the terrace, we went to the airport.
25 degrees, the sun and the sea: not bad as a business trip.
