Monday was basically my last day in Barcelona.
I woke up at 11:30 to go lunch with Barbara, Adri, Clara, Joana and Soraya, all met at the several Lexus events. We lunched at the Seventeen-Olivia Hotel Balmes, where I booked through "El Tenedor" ("The Fork", "La Fourchette", and whatever is called in every country). We payed 16 euros for a menu including aperitif, entree, main course, dessert, coffee and drink. Furthermore of great level.
After lunch, Barbara and I went for a walk around the shops of Carrer de Pelai and Portal Del Angel. At 17:50 I had the appointment with the dentist, and Barbara went back home. Finally, I should have taken the braces off. At least I thought so. When I arrived, the dentist pointed out a small hole between two teeth. And put an elastic to close it: next month I will finally take it off. And also this time I will take it off next time.
After the dentist I met with Martì, a good friend of mine, who had to update me on the thousand of things that happened since the last time we saw each others. At 11:00 pm, I ran away to pack my stuff and go to the airport. I decided to go there at night despite my flight was the following morning. To be able to rest at the airport. Very bad idea. I arrived at work on Tuesday morning pretty much without any sleep. I probably slept 2 hours in total.
On Wednesday, at work nothing really special. At 18:30 Sony and I went to buy a couple of things. Then I went back home to make Tiramisu. We planned a dinner with some of the Italians of Toyota at one of them's house. Salami, bresaola, piadine and various entrees, amatriciana and Tiramisu. As Italian as you can get. We stayed until 12:30, then to bed. Luckily we are all used to the same hours and to the early wake up during the week.
Thursday started with a meeting with the caterer for the event. And finished with a three-hours meeting with the production agency. THREE HOURS. Honestly, not even if I have to tell all the story of my life...
Friday, another busy day at work: I left more than an hour later than I am supposed to. Then I went to the city center with Laura, a Spanish friend of mine who works in Toyota. We went to have a drink in Brussels downtown. We wanted to go to a shisha-bar we already went to, but we found it closed. So we went for another one: we entered just a random one because we were freezing and would have settled for anything.
I spent the all Saturday among housework: hair mask, cleaning the house, doing the laundry. And at night I went to the farewell house party of one of the guys working in Toyota. There were about 50 people, coming from all Europe (and not) and a table full of alcoholics. But the key moment was when we started, at 2 am, to peel and cut 4 kg of carrots to be eaten with hummus. Unreal. As some of the conversations happening there. A girl (Italian, I would like to specify) when I told her I am from Brianza (an area close to Milan, for the non-Italians :) answered: "oh, it's close to the sea, right?!". Some of the people at the party were not exactly cultural prodigies. But well, it takes all kinds to make the world, doesn't it?
