Ed ecco che inizia un nuovo anno scolastico, un altro modulo, nuove materie, gruppo ed insegnanti. Devo ammettere, è stato difficile riprendere a studiare dopo le vacanze, il mare e il sole, i viaggi a Monaco, Berlino ed Amsterdam. Ma comunque, prima o poi ci si riabitua.

Il nuovo modulo si chiama SME e racchiude Strategy, Marketing e Economics. Non credo ci sia bisogno di spiegare cosa ho studiato durante il modulo, e onestamente non credo gliene freghi qualcosa a qualcuno, ma per i più curiosi: in Strategy ho imparato le diverse strategie che un’azienda può attuare quando opera all’estero o ha contratti con aziende estere, ho imparato come aziende devono affrontare fusioni o acquisizioni di altre aziende e come analizzare diverse imprese, sia internamente che esternamente; in Marketing ovviamente ho studiato le strategie da utilizzare quando si lancia un nuovo prodotto, come pubblicizzarlo, come mantenere relazioni con i clienti, specialmente quelli più influenti, e così via..; lastly, in Economics ho studiato la legge della domanda e dell’offerta, economie di scala, come decidere i prezzi di prodotti e servizi, l’elasticità dei prezzi eccetera. Il progetto in questo modulo consisteva nel scegliere un’azienda e creare un nuovo prodotto da lanciare, con annessa la strategia di marketing. Un progetto davvero interessante e divertente!

Per quanto riguarda cos’ho fatto in questi mesi, una risposta sincera…NIENTE :D

Niente di interessante quantomeno, nessun viaggio, nessun evento particolare…niente da raccontarvi. Ovviamente c’è stato il mio compleanno, finalmente ho compiuto 21 anni :D i miei amici mi hanno regalato un coupon di 70€ per voli diversi, così che posso tornare a casa più spesso. Che poi, la ragione più grande per cui non torno a casa è perché non ho tempo, mica soldi. Questo programma non ha mai pause >.< comunque a parte quello, il mio corso mi piace ancora lol

Poi c’è stata la Week of Inspiration (settimana dell’ispirazione). Per chi non lo sapesse, faccio parte del comitato che ha organizzato quest’evento, una settimana piena di speakers e workshops con lo scopo di ispirare la comunità dell’università. Organizzare un evento di questo tipo è stato molto interessante e formativo, ho imparato molte cose, come per esempio a pubblicizzare un evento tramite diversi canali, così come a lavorare con persone di altri corsi e età. Di per sé, l’evento è stato un successo!

Oh! Mi sono dimenticata un dettaglio per me importante, che probabilmente a voi non interessa…ho preso 10 come voto finale in questo modulo! :D Congratulations to me :P

And so a new school year has started, a new module, new subjects, new group and new teachers. I have to admit, it was hard to start studying again after the holidays, the sea and the sun, the trips to Munich, Berlin and Amsterdam (you can find a summary here). But anyway, sooner or later you will get used to it.

The new module it’s called SME and contains Strategy, Marketing and Economics. I don’t think there is the need to explain what I studied during this module, and honestly I don’t think anyone cares, but for the most curious: for strategy I learned the different strategies that a firm can have when operating internationally, I learned how companies face mergers and acquisitions and how to analyse different organizations, both internally and externally. For marketing I obviously studied the strategies to use when launching a new product into the market, how to advertise it, how to maintain the relationships with clients, especially the most influential ones, and so on. Lastly, for economics I studied the law of demand and offer, economy of scale, how to decide on the prices of products and services, price elasticity etc. For this project, we were to pick a company and create a new product to launch, with a marketing strategy for it. A really interesting and fun project.

As far as what I’ve done in these months, an honest answer….nothing :D

Nothing interesting at least, no trip, no particular event…nothing to tell you. Of course, there was my birthday…I finally turned 21 :D my friends gave me a coupon of 70€ for flights, so that I can come home sometime. But then again, the most important reason why I don’t come home is because I don’t have the time, not the money. This program doesn’t have breaks >.< other than that tho, I still love my course.

Then there was the Week of Inspiration. For those of you who don’t know, I was part of the committee that organized this event, a week full of speakers and workshops with the purpose of inspiring the University of Twente community. Organizing such an event was really interesting and formative, I learned a lot of things, like for example how to advertise an event through different channels, how to work with other people from other studies and ages. The event was a success :D

Oh! I forgot a little small detail that it’s super important to me but you probably don’t even care about…I got a 10 as a final grade in this module :D Congratulations to me :P
