10 Things to do in Melbourne

- Tour a piedi in centro (partendo da Federation Square, facendo da Flinder Street tutte le viette principali del centro, visitando Chinatown, Melbourne Central, la Biblioteca, etc).
- Royal Botanic Gardens. Uno dei più belli che io abbia mai visto, e si dice uno dei più belli del mondo, meritano decisamente una visita se si passa per la città.
- Tour a Phillip Island. Potete trovare l’articolo a proposito del mio tour a Phillip Island, con tutte le informazioni relative a costi e itinerario, qui.
- Graffiti Tour e Tour a Fitzroy. A Melbourne la street art trova grande spazio: un sacco di volte mi è capitato di camminare per strada e trovare qualche writer intento a fare un nuovo murales. E a Melbourne i luoghi da esplorare per trovare graffiti sono un sacco: la via più famosa è Hosier Lane, una via piena di murales, con scarpe appese in alto e writer sempre all'opera. Fitzroy, invece, è un quartiere molto hipster, pieno di artisti, bar, gallerie d'arte e negozi vintage con un'atmosfera che lo rendono un punto di riferimento per la scena artistica e culturale di Melbourne.
- National Gallery of Victoria, Museum Victoria. Questi due secondo me sono due must, a cui si può aggiungere una lista di altri musei molto interessanti: l'ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image, che a me è piaciuto molto), il National Sports Museum, il Chinese Museum, eccetera.

- Queen Victoria Market. Must per qualsiasi turista di passaggio per Melbourne: pieno di prodotti tipici, souvenir, prodotti locali freschi e prodotti di tutto il mondo. Sinceramente io preferisco il South Melbourne Market, che oltre ad essere a 2 minuti da casa mia, era più piccolo, meno turistico e con prezzi più bassi.
- Melbourne cafés. Una delle icone di Melbourne sono, appunto, i café, che rappresentano un format famoso ormai in tutto il mondo. Curati nei dettagli, un po' hipster, con un ambiente piacevole e con un caffè molto, molto buono, sono l'ideale per passare un piacevole pomeriggio o per fare colazione fuori. E non si finisce mai di scoprirne di nuovi.
- Casinò. Tappa fissa per chi visita Melbourne, il Crown è il Casinò più grande d'Australia, e comprende nello stesso edificio anche una discoteca, un hotel, un ristorante e vari negozi.
- Tour dei Rooftop Bar. Essendo una città piena di grattacieli, con un fiume e un panorama pazzesco non possono mancare i rooftop bar, tutti diversi e con viste mozzafiato sulla città. Il più famoso è l'Eureka Skydeck 88, la torre più alta della città e, dicono, con la vista migliore.
- Walking tour around the CBD (starting from Federation Square, walking around all the main streets, visiting the Library, Flinder Street Station, Southern Cross Station, Melbourne Central, the Parliament, and so on).
- Royal Botanic Gardens. Some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and, they say, some of the most beautiful in the world. They definitely deserve a tour if you are visiting the city.

- Graffiti Tour and Fitzroy Tour. In Melbourne, street art is quite a big thing: several times, while I was walking around, I stepped into some writer doing a new mural. And in Melbourne the places to explore to find graffitis are a lot: the most famous street is Hosier Lane, a street full of murals, with shoes hanging on top and writers always at work. Fitzroy, on the other hand, is a culturally active quarter, quite hipster, full of artists, bars, art galleries and vintage shops with an atmosphere that makes it one of the most important points of reference for the artistic and cultural scene of Melbourne.
- National Gallery of Victoria, Museum Victoria. I believe these are two musts, but you can add a list of other very interesting museums: the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image, that I really liked), the National Sports Museum, the Chinese Museum, etc.

- Queen Victoria Market. Necessary stop in Melbourne: full of typical products, souvenirs, fresh local products and things from all over the world. Honestly, I prefer South Melbourne Market, 2 minutes from my place, smaller and with lower prices.
- Melbourne cafés. One of Melbourne's icons are, precisely, cafés, which represent now a famous format all over the world. Carefully refined in all details, cozy, super nice, and with a really, really good coffe: perfect to spend a nice afternoon or to have breakfast outside. And you never finish to discover new ones.
- Casino. Must for tourists visiting Melbourne, the Crown is the biggest Casino in Australia, and it includes in the same building a club, a hotel, a restaurant and a few shops.
- Rooftop Bars Tour. As Melbourne is a city full of skyscrapers, with a river and and incredible view, it can't fail to have plenty of rooftops, all different and with crazy view on the city. The most famous one is the Eureka Skydeck 88, the highest tower of Melbourne and, they say, with the best view.
