Koh Samui - Lamai Beach

A presto, Thailandia!

Last stop of the trip is Koh Samui, the island which is probably the most touristic.

Our hotel is close to Lamai Beach. We arrive in the morning, so we quickly go towards the beach. As soon as we arrive, we see the difference between this beach and the other two we just left, Sairee Beach in Koh Tao and Haad Salad in Koh Phangan.
The beach is full of tourists, sun beds, beach umbrellas and water sports gear. We are a little disappointed, since we grew fond of the two paradisiacal beaches of Koh Tao and Koh Phangan, but we are still happy to spend a couple more days at the beach.

We decide to get a couple of sun beds and beach umbrellas, also because the sun is burning and unfortunately here there are no trees under which you can cover yourself from the sun. The beds and umbrellas are free if you eat at the restaurant of the hotel, fair deal. Clearly the restaurant is more expensive than where we have eaten in Koh Tao and Koh Phangan, but being the place way more touristic we expected that. We also had a big breakfast, so we were not that hungry. We end the day with a walk and dinner at a restaurant close to the hotel.

The second day we decide to change beach, so that we can explore around. We move to Silver Beach, a little less touristic but still full of people, restaurants and hotels. The sea is better than in Lamai Beach, cleaner and with some fish and corals. Unfortunately though, the wind and sand that flies in your eyes ruin the atmosphere a little.
The evening we decide to go for a walk around Lamai Beach. We arrive in an area full of stands where you can buy anything, ranging from typical Thai food to fake branded clothes. We have dinner in a restaurant where you can pick which seafood to eat, how much and how you want it cooked. We got carried away a little and we have excessive portions, but everything tastes great!

The last day we decide to stay in Lamai Beach, since it's the nearest to our hotel. We get the same beach umbrellas and sun beds of the first day and we enjoy the last beach day before going home.

Our trip ends here. We spent wonderful weeks, between ancient temples and breathtaking beaches. Unfortunately, it's time to leave this beautiful country and to go back home.

See you soon, Thailand!
